Today we launch a search for the heroes of the UK’s digital infrastructure industry as we announce The INCAs, our inaugural awards scheme which will recognise alternative network providers (altnets).
Celebrating the best of the UK’s independent network builders and operators, the INCAs will highlight the innovative work being carried out by altnets across the UK.
“Over the past two years, the hard work of INCA members has sparked Government’s interest, placing altnets at the centre of its strategy for full fibre and 5G deployment across the UK,” said INCA CEO Malcolm Corbett. “As such, now is the perfect time to recognise the hard work which has led to this and the cutting-edge work being undertaken to build next-generation networks capable of supporting future broadband demands.
Applications are now open to network builders, operators and other independents working hard to improve the UK’s digital infrastructure. Seven INCAs will be presented in total in the following categories: Technical Innovation, Commercial Innovation, Urban Impact, Rural Impact, Best Community Project, Best Public Sector Impact and Outstanding Contribution.
Taking place at the Amba Hotel, Marble Arch, London on 5th November 2018, the awards dinner and ceremony will take place in the evening in the middle of our annual conference, a two-day event bringing together hundreds of industry leaders and figures from local and national government. Government policy-makers, funders and leaders from the sector will share their insights into the latest developments across the industry.
“The INCAs will be an embodiment of the finest work altnets are carrying out, celebrated on a scale that the industry hasn’t seen before and will present an exciting opportunity for altnets and independents to show off their achievements,” said Corbett. “The Annual Conference is the perfect time to recognise these accomplishments as they highlight how far the British altnet broadband industry has come and the capabilities of the operators as we continue to deliver a fully connected country and look towards 5G and full-fibre networks.”
