At November's Annual General Meeting two new people were elected to INCA's board.
Ros Singleton (pictured speaking at the 2021 INCA Conference) brings a wealth of experience to the role, as a CEO, a board chair, a non-executive director, advisor and investor with over 30 years of experience in the technology sector. She is the CEO of Spring Fibre, an FTTH start up and INCA Member organisation, and the Chair of the UK5G Advisory Board providing advice to and working closely with DCMS.
For the last five years Ros has been an active angel investor and mentor and has led several deals, focussing on tech businesses with a female founder. She is a member of the Angel Academe Advisory Board.
Rosalind joined UK Broadband in 2013 and was Managing Director from 2017 until it integrated into its parent company in 2019 following delivery of the ThreeBroadband 5G launch network. She has previously held senior roles at BT Openreach, Cable and Wireless, Vodafone, various VNOs, and international operators.
Rosalind is a member of Ofcom’s Spectrum Advisory Board which provides independent advice to Ofcom on strategic spectrum management issues. She is also an Independent NED on the board of Alphawave PLC and an advisor to multiple start and scale-ups.
The second new member of the board of directors is Tim Stranack. Tim joins INCA's board following a successful year chairing our Policy & Regulatory Special Interest Group. Founder and currently the Regulatory and Trade Director of London full -fibre provider Community Fibre,
Tim's knowledge of the regulatory environment and extensive experience building a successful AltNet businesses is a major asset for INCA's board.
The two appointments come at a time when the contribution of AltNets to the development of Gigabit Britain and to the UK economy has never been more important, especially with the government renewing commitments for the provision of access to 5G broadband for the "large majority" of households in the Levelling Up white paper and with the setting of a new target for nationwide 1Gbps broadband to be achieved by 2030.
INCA Chair Alex Blowers said, “We are delighted to welcome Ros and Tim to the INCA board. Both come with substantial experience in the sector and will play a vital role in what we are sure will be a crucial next 12-24 months in the future of the UK’s fixed telecoms sector”.
