There is an existing Number Porting industry system for Number Based Interpersonal Communications Service (NBICS). NBICS includes all PSTN and VOIP services which use the National Plan. This applies to all telephone numbers (other than those starting 07) allocated by Ofcom on the National Telephone Numbering Plan Telecoms numbering - Ofcom. OTS Steering Group has said that OTS and Number Porting will need to work together for a successful implementation of OTS.
We are trying to find out how this might impact INCA Members retailing Voice to End Users.
