Identifying your service to the OTS Hub: RID, OTSID or?

Ofcom’s requirements for the GPL process mandate a 60s response time for RCPs to respond to the OTS Hub for Residential Switching. Business Switches have a longer allowable response time over 1 or 2 working days (Business Switches may be more complex than the Residential single IAS / NBICS Switch.)

It follows, therefore that both GRCPs and LRCPs will need to identify which service they are talking about with the End User so that the RCPs can adhere to the correct response times as mandated.

Every CP is supposed to have an official Ofcom Reseller ID code as per the info on this page Telecoms numbering - Ofcom. Several CPs have different RIDs for their Residential arm and their Business arm. Other CPs record whether the End User is on a Residential Contract or a Business Contract. Others do both and yet others only supply one sector of the market. There is an ongoing discussion in the OTS Design Process as to how best to identify Residential vs Business Switches. This may be:

  1. Use your existing Ofcom RID (applying for a 2nd one if needed)
  2. Use a flag from your CRM showing Residential or Business
  3. Use a new separate "OTS ID" for Residential and Business.

There are 3 options so we’d like to know how you would do this. This information will be collated and shared with OTA in the Design Group work. So if you have a preference for how you would be doing this, it's important you tell us know so we can help OTA arrive at the right solution for you and other members.

If providing more than one RID, please enter each RID on a separate line.
